Borrelia Miyamotoi: emergent tick borne illness

It's a related spirochete to Borrelia burgdorferi (primary Lyme disease causing bug).

But the key difference with this bacterium is you have Lyme symptoms, but no rash.

I'm insured too, so why am I paying for meds?

don't get me started on american healthcare...

Yikes! I'm on doxy now; thank goodness I'm insured.

on the plus side, new health guidelines are to just treat for lyme disease based on symptom description, no test warranted

on the down side, doxycycline costs to consumer have spiked from $10 to $200 for a full dose regiment, due to the opaque bs that goes on in american healthcare. so you need to get amoxicillin instead, which is 3x a day rather than 2x a day, and doesn't protect against other tick borne illnesses like HGE

(as you can tell, i just got lyme)

Nevermind. I just read the article and it answers my question. (duh)

I've had lyme twice and never had the bullseye. Is there a separate test for this disease or will the standard lyme tests pick it up?
