I'm focused on bringing the message of reuse, reduce and recycle to the Hudson Valley. I work on switching businesses to sustainable alternatives to foam packaging, increasing awareness about electronic waste, and educating the public about local environmental issues and resources.

Help with our Raise The Roof Fundraiser

This past May, the Sargent-Downing Gardens and Nursery was planted at the Settlement Camp! Thank you to everyone in the community who came out and those who have been helping since the start. Together, we've managed to start a great community garden with excellent results. Trees, vegetables and herbs are growing, and trees have been donated to the city. Ten trees will be planted around Beacon over the next few weeks, thanks to 10 sponsors in the community who have purchased the trees.…

Results from the First Electronics Recycling Day in Beacon

Results from Beacon's First Electronics Recycling Collection


On Saturday, July 23 over 300 cars came to City Hall in Beacon within 4 hours to drop off broken electronics for recycling. The massive turnout was unpredicted. The staff of Advanced Recovery Inc. which sponsored the event, handled the influx marvelously despite the 90 degree heat.…
