Artist and designer Amy C Wilson was born in Albany, New York and grew up in the Albany-Rensselaer area. At the age of 18, she moved to New York City and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts for Toy Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has resided in New York City for 20 years. Hands that work in various mediums and exhibit an array of imagination has been used to describe Amy C Wilson’s work. Creating everything from large paper and acrylic paintings on canvas to ‘unusual’ cloth dolls and plush toys with curious expressions. Amy describes her work: “I consider my art and design to be an expression of what is currently going on in my life. I love color, texture, structure and balance. When life gets a little crazy I turn to my paint brushes or sewing machine for balance.” Amy has exhibited in various solo and group shows throughout the New York City, Hudson Valley and Buffalo area. She has shown her work at such galleries as Albright Knox Gallery in Buffalo, New York, Superfine in Brooklyn, New York, Hudson Beach Glass Gallery in Beacon, New York, and various group shows throughout New York City with artist group she founded, White Studio NYC. Amy currently resides in the Hudson Valley area of New York with her husband. She finds the tranquility of the Hudson River waterfront inspiring and a great place to live and work.
