Hikes for all abilities
We are lucky to live at the foot of the Hudson Highlands but if you've never ventured up "the hill", here are some great places to check out...
Easy/Moderate- "kid friendly"
1. Cornish Estates- park at Little Stony Point (Rt. 9D)
This is a great walk/hike. Can easily be done with children and even strollers as you walk up the old paved drive. The path turns to dirt quite a ways up, but still a relatively easy hike.

2. Dennings Point- park at the Beacon Train Station or the transfer station.
Starting from the train station, head south along the new river trail about a mile. At the "T", go left into the park. Make you first left and then a right at the far corner of the old factory. This begins the loop. If you stay straight and take the river side out to the end of the point, you'll notice a very obvious path on your right about 1/4 mile out. This will take you to the "beach" or continue on the main path to complete the loop. Great one for kids. Pack the bug spray!
For a shorter version- Park at dead end past transfer station (Dennings Ave). Walk around gate and follow road south. Cross the rail overpass and follow directions from the "T" in above description.
