I would first like to thank everyone for their comments. I actually wrote this review
not really thinking anyone would read it. Just getting out my frustrations online. Well, I was wrong. Not only were their comments here on beaconcitizen.com, but this made it to numerous other sites and now I sorta feel bad.
First off, the owner of the Piggy Bank called me on Friday and asked if I would come in and sit down to explain my experience. Doug (the owner), Jen (I believe a manager), sat down with me and my husband Friday night. They gave us the opportunity to describe what happened that Tuesday night. I thought this was commendable on their part, they could have totally ignored this, like so many other restaurant owners do.
So, the restaurant apparently had an off night. In all fairness, they were slow, so we could have either gotten great food, or lazy food. We got the latter. I would be remiss if I did not mention that I too was in the restaurant business for years and totally understand what could have gone wrong.
Doug and Jen were genuine. They wanted us to try again. They gave us a $50 gift certificate. We accepted. Everyone deserves a second chance.
I would also like to point out that when we went there Friday night to talk to Doug, the place was packed with what appeared to be VERY happy people. It was about 10:00 pm. They had live music - it actually looked like a lot of fun. Wish we could have stayed.
We will be dining at the Piggy Bank this Saturday evening. I will be sure to follow up this post!
