Beacon Citizen Network (BCN): a place for neighbors to get the word out, be heard and stay informed in all matters concerning Beacon, NY.

Mill Street Loft, is working to develop, implement and maintain creative educational arts and
environmental arts programming for all ages and abilities at Scenic Hudson's
restored historic RED BARN in Beacon, NY (Riverside Arts: Beacon). These programs, at the
revitalized Long Dock site, (neighboring Dia Beacon and Clearwater’s new
headquarters) are based on Mill Street Loft's already successful Art Institute,
Project ABLE+, AWARE and Dutchess Arts Camps, and draw on the powerful
relationship between the Hudson River and its environs. In addition, Mill Street Loft
will utilize the facility and it's surrounding riverside park to bring
earth arts to the Beacon community.

Mill Street Loft and Riverside Arts: Beacon are in the voting cycle for the Pepsi Refresh Everything $50,000 grant. By going to this link you can vote to support this idea.

The Refresh Grant will assist us in launching "Riverside Arts: Beacon" and will provide financial assistance for disadvantaged youth.

Good job Beaconites. You've moved the idea ranking to 75th. However, we need to be in the top 10 by October 31. So tell your friends, relatives, co-workers, everyone. Vote every day. Your vote is a vote for Beacon. Your vote will help children, adults, businesses, and community groups. YOUR VOTE COUNTS.

Beaconites should all be on board for this; it will be a wonderful addition to our waterfront and a neat re-use of an antique barn. The Beacon Farmers Market Committee supports this as a possible shelter for the Sunday winter market and I urge everyone to vote for this as we only have October to do it! As was mentioned, you can vote up to 10 times a day...thank you for your support!

We need the whole city of Beacon behind this. Please vote everyday at:

Your vote will enable us to bring enriching arts programs for all ages to Beacon. We will be utilizing many of the artists and organizations there as well as providing a new community space, programs for under-served youth, and earth arts. Your vote counts.
