Beacon Citizen Network (BCN): a place for neighbors to get the word out, be heard and stay informed in all matters concerning Beacon, NY.

I didn't know this:

The restaurant opened quietly, and runs Wednesdays through Sundays, with a fairly high-end and creative cuisine from chef Brandon Collins. It’s called Swift, after Horatio Swift, an early mechanic and occupant of the building in the 1800s who is credited with making the nation’s first lawn mowers.

Thank you for McAlpines! It's like another tentpole in Beacon after Dia.

Kevin: as the place proves more of a success, transportation in the area will become more difficult

if only there were a train line that ran close by, owned by a metropolitan transportation authority !?

seriously, we have to canvass businesses and get them to stand behind and throw their weight behind our effort

hey Ben,I knew that IE: the Roundhouse Swift restaurant opening - I had 'liked' the Roundhouse on Facebook last year and have been following the progress

what I did not know is that all 5 condo units are sold - I had known that 2 were sold (papers signed etc.) and one sale was pending

acording to the PoJo article the event space is already booked until Sept. and it is not even open yet!
