Someone stole a plant from my front yard sometime between 5PM yesterday and 2PM today.  Has anyone had a similar experience?  It was very odd.

Man, that is really strange... It sounds like plant terrorism to me. Why take only one plant? I guess I feel luck to have loud mouth dogs who bark wvery time they hear a noise outside... :(

Odd that the plants being taken are not anything exotic or hard to find, or even expensive.

I had one taken from my front yard too.  A small burning bush.  There is an article in the Beacon Press wish is not online, but it mainly focuses on two residents' plants being replaced by local landscaper not the fact that this appears to be spree going on all over town.

I have heard of this going on for a couple of seasons now and rumored to be "landscapers" that are doing it. it really sucks. i heard of them rolling up sod of people fronts. i hope they find them soon- not cool.

This weeks Beacon Free Press has a follow up story,. I might have a copy of last weeks.  It happened last year too and was posted here.

I did report to the police.  The cop answering the phone sounded mildly surprised.

Anyone have a link to the article Hero mentioned?

oh great - so now besides having to be wary of 4-footed critters destroying gardens, now we have to worry about the 2-footed critters ??? That is just wrong.

Have you read about the Beacon plant thief or thieves in the Beacon paper? I read about it a few days ago and apparently it's been happening to many people in town. Even though it's a cheap plant, you may want to report it anyway to the police because I am sure they are tracking the incidences.

that is really odd - have heard that happening in other places here and there, but not locally. And a pieris ? Not exactly an exotic or anything - can get small ones at Home Depot for just 6 bucks !
