Beacon Citizen Network (BCN): a place for neighbors to get the word out, be heard and stay informed in all matters concerning Beacon, NY.

It was odd for me running into a music legend at the hardware store, driving by, just walking down Main Street.

He's a big piece of the fabric of our city, the River, the nation, and the world.

A very sad day in Beacon.

I never met him, but saw him once at a restaurant, but didn't want to bother him.  His wife died last year? and what seems to often happen when a spouse dies, the survivor soon follows.

Very sad, indeed. My daughter was one of the original Rivertown Kids and sang on the Grammy winning CD - Tomorrow's Children, and sang with him at 3 Clearwater Revivals and numerous Sloop Club festivals. What a great experience for our family as a whole. He even bought Girl Scout cookies from her one year! :) RIP, Pete. You will be sorely missed.
