Beacon Citizen Network (BCN): a place for neighbors to get the word out, be heard and stay informed in all matters concerning Beacon, NY.

Has anyone tried to get HDTV channels using an antenna? Before spending money on an antenna to experiment, I am hoping someone here has tried and can report on their success or failure.

Info on VHF/UHF reception in the area would also be interesting, but I'm primarily focused on digital TV signals OTA.

You don't need an NYC billing address any more, it open to dutchess county now too. $8/m gives you unlimited streaming and 20 hours of dvr. Cheaper than basic cable alone while also giving you dvr and you can watch on your mobile phone. Theres a free 1 hour trial with no credit card required.

You should consider getting an Aereo account. Just requires a NYC billing address for your credit card at the time of signup.

Only thing that comes in is RNN and the church channel. For anything else you need either basic cable, satellite, or aereo with a roku.

Forget it. There are no major channels accessible.
