Local Teens and Farmers Start a Farmers’ Market on Wheels

To Bring Locally-Grown Produce to Low-Income Neighborhoods in Beacon, one of only three such markets in the entire United States.

What: Grand Opening of Common Greens, a new, mobile farmers’ market selling locally-grown, chemical-free, and affordable fruits and vegetables directly in low-income neighborhoods in Beacon, NY.

When: Friday, July 31th at 1:00 PM (press conference at 1 PM, market to follow)

Where: 1 Forrestal Heights, Beacon in Parking Lot #2 next to Community Room (look for bright green mini-school bus)

Who: Common Ground Farm
Green Teens Community Gardening Program
Cornell Cooperative Extension

After the press conference the market will be open for customers and participants will be available for interviews.
