FISHKILL - Dutchess County Legislator, Alison MacAvery, together with Friends of the Fishkill Supply Depot(www.FishkillSupplyDepot.org
) have organized a special candlelight ceremony to commemorate the 1897 dedication of the Daughters of the American Revolution monument to the Soldiers of the Fishkill Supply Depot. The ceremony will take place adjacent to the newly discovered Continental Army Cemetery Complex - the original location of the dedication 112 years ago on Van Wyck Lake Road, off Route 9 in Fishkill
. Town of Fishkill Supervisor, Joan Pagones will be attending. Lorraine MacAulay, officer of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Melzingah Chapter in Beacon, will read from the original 1897 dedication. The 5th New York Regiment will conduct a military tribute.
All will meet in the parking lot of the Van Wyck Homestead (courtesy of the Fishkill Historical Society) at 6:15 on the evening of Wednesday, October 14 and take the candlelit walk to Van Wyck Lake Road for the ceremony.
