Beacon Welcome Center - Volunteer Training Session

For all of you who have watched the new Beacon Welcome Center being created by a wonderful group of volunteers working under the leadership of George Mansfield, wait no longer - it will open on September 11 4pm on Beacon Second Saturday.

Volunteers are now being sought to help work at the Beacon Welcome Center starting in Mid-September. There were be two shifts - 11 - 2:30 and 2:30 - 6pm. Training sessions will be held to educate volunteers on the Center, Beacon, Events and also the surrounding area... "Where can I eat, sleep, and shop? What is going on? Why is Beacon called Beacon? How can I get to Bannerman's Island and the Walkway? etc..." These and many other topics will be addressed.

The second training session will be held in the Community Room at the Beacon City Municipal Building (enter through the Lower Level Beekman St Building Department) Wednesday September 1, 2010 9:30 - 11:30

Amy - we are looking for both....people that could come on a regular day - and also those who could backup people..... So if you fit in either of these catagories - you might want to come to the training session Wed morning. let us know. Linda

Are you looking for people who can volunteer regularly, the same day every week, or would it be possible to just pick up a day here and there?
