(AP) — BEACON, N.Y. - Mentally ill inmates at a New York prison are part of a pioneering study that aims to determine whether educating them about their conditions can help reduce discipline problems and the amount of repeat offenders. About 140 inmates have received the training at Fishkill Correctional Facility in Beacon, 70 miles north of New York City.

Wonder if there is a connection to the Alternatives to Violence Project. It sounds like their kind of initiative. Great group with Quaker roots.
