hi everyone, i'm just doing a bit of ethnographic research, and would appreciate your input. as most of you have probably heard, apple unveiled their newest toy on Wednesday, the iPad. i'm in the middle of writing a piece on its potential societal impacts, and was interested in the opinions out there.

so, based on the information you have so far, do you intend to buy this product? (you can watch the keynote and the video highlighting the features here.)

why or why not? how do you see this product impacting current practices in business, education, or just leisure? any other general thoughts/opinions about it?

as a supplement to the question, for anyone that has an iPhone or an iPod touch - 3 questions:

1. how many apps do you have?
2. how many do you use on a regular basis?
3. which do you use the most/favorites?

anyone reading this who has kids that could answer this post, please ask them to reply! thanks so much.

Hi Venessa,

I was hesitant to purchase the original iPad thinking its true merit was a bit dubious. Having used one for about a year or so I love it and would have a hard time giving it up. They are very convenient.

As far as ethnographic data: I am a white anglo saxon protestant male. (aka obsolete).

:-)
