Summer is the most bountiful time of the year — tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, beans by the bushel. Our Sunday farmer's market is fantastic, but sometimes it's a good thing to see the food coming out of the ground. Should you desire to venture out to actual farms and enjoy blueberry and raspberry season (and apple season not too far off), I've put together a map of farms in our area, including some pick-your-own places. This is just a start, if you think I should add something just shoot me a message through this network. Also, comment on your personal experiences at area farms.

Another great resource for enjoying local bounty is LocalHarvest.org

In other foodie news, I was thrilled to learn earlier this year that a Hudson Valley edition of the Edible Communities magazine will be arriving some time this fall. Hopefully it won't be a threat to the venerable Valley Table magazine, now in its 10th year.

Bon Appetit!
