I just found a link to this cute site by local artists that produces wooden bookmarks using high-quality woods and scrap hardwood whenever possible. Each one is handmade and topped with a protective water-based clear satin finish. They all feature either original drawings or a letter stamped directly onto the wood. They've sold their goods at the Rengade Craft Fair in Brooklyn recently.

The Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries sells these (or ones similar) in the gallery/bookstore...
