Beacon Citizen Network (BCN): a place for neighbors to get the word out, be heard and stay informed in all matters concerning Beacon, NY.

Yesterday's Travel section in the Times featured an article about visiting Beacon titled Art and Calm Just Up the Hudson. Hardly news, not to mention that there's so much more to see than just Dia that the article doesn't even acknowledge.

What was nice is that the times did discover the very-recently opened Marlena's Kitchen and has this to say: "a tiny yolk-colored shop serving handmade pirogis and potato pancakes, is the brainchild of a retired Emmy-winning film sound editor who is now dedicating herself to the food of her native Poland." Jamaican Spice, Homespun and Cup and Saucer also got shout outs.

I walked by Jamacain Spice and they had a sign on their door that said Closed Until Further Notice. Oh no! Does anyone know anything about this?
