What A Shame! From The Mouth Of Babes "Nothing Happening At Sargent and Downing Gardens!" The Sound Of Children In The Garden Has Faded.

I founded Sargent and Downing Gardens to pay tribute to this great City of Beacon. Henry Winthrop Sargent and Andrew Jackson Downing have played a huge role in American Horticulture, and one could say it started right here. My car accident a year ago really took a toll on me and slowed me down. The way the current President and Treasurer were doing things just are not right. We All Will Miss Pete Seeger

The first time I met him was when I had my business in Beacon in 1995; a flower shop called Sherwood Florist. It was one of the storefronts of the Beacon Hotel.I had attended a Beacon Rotary Club lunch meeting and he was the guest speaker. He spoke about the Hudson River and things he was doing to help clean up the river.

He was such a wonderful person and when I asked him for his card he gave me his phone number. Many years later my wife was having a situation where a well known…

Martin Luther King Parade In Beacon, NY 2014

We spent the day remembering Martin Luther King Jr. and meeting great people while we marched. I have never seen such a community feeling as the one that lives in Beacon. It is as if the days gone by still live on today. What a beautiful town to live in and bring up children, Thank you to all, Richie Cabo and Family.
