The Beacon Line Project website: new content

Frequent issues involving Beacon's growth center on transportation. And we have a relic of Beacon's industrial past, the Beacon Line, running right through our city. Even more amazing (considering it is not currently used) is that the line is owned and maintained by the M.T.A.

Metro North Service Cuts on Hudson Line

The recent schedule change (effective 6/21/10) means that trains to Poughkeepsie departing Grand Central after 9pm weekdays are now combined with Croton Harmon local trains. The reduced number of trains means more stops, more passengers, longer commute times but same expense. (and same likelihood the lights and/or air conditioning will be out and you'll either be down a car or have to get a new train at Croton Harmon)
