Solar Sound Band At the Beacon Sloop Club Corn Festival

They will perform their new recording of Turn Turn Turn to remember Pete Seeger and Toshi Seeger. This version has the lyrics for children Toshi wrote. We heard it at a Beacon Festival. Come join us Aug. 9th from 12-4 pm this Sunday and eat some corn. I remember Pete was cooking the corn at one if these festivals when it used to be on the Long Dock side.

Yay! The Transit Oriented District is coming back!

The thing that blew my mind about the sinking of the T.O.D. last time is: there is no better way to boost biking and walking, and increase Beacon Main Street business, than a large captive audience of people in train dependent housing a couple hundred yards away.

But there was loud opposition of people who had…

Sale on Vegetable Plants at Sunny Garden greenhouse/nursery

I dropped by the Sunny Garden greenhouse (on Rt 9D near Stewarts)  with my wife on Saturday and decided to buy a few more cherry tomato plants.  I was happily surprised that ALL their vegetable plants are on sale! (my four plants, already with green tomatoes, were only 25-cents each!).  It appears that all the tomato plant varieties have green tomatoes, so if you thought it was too late to plant, it looks like this is your opportunity to catch up!  I don't know how much longer they will have…

Just saw a shooting at Exit 11

It happened right in front of me. Police shot a man holding a knife. I don't want to say any more right now about what I saw, it will be all over the news I'm certain. I don't know if the guy survived or not. Happened half an hour ago. I'm going to contact BCPD and give my statement.
