Final Flea cancelled

Dear all,

Due to the unpredictable nature of the upcoming storm and 50% chance of rain I am cancelling tomorrow's Beacon Flea Market.  This has been a great season, and I thank you for your continued support.  Opportunities, sales and events will be posted on the website, so please keep checking back!

PINKALICIOUS.

My grandson Bryce Edwards who is 12 years old and in the 8th grade,  is playing one of the leading roles in the play Pinkalicious. He plays Pink's little brother Peter.

The play has already had 3 performances last weekend so I can tell you it was really great. If is a family play so if you have kids and grand kids, I highly recommend it. There is a lot of singing and dancing, and never a dull moment. It is about an hour or so long.

We ask that patrons please order their tickets online for the Pinkalicious performances that are left. The last thing we at The Beacon want is to turn anyone away at the door, so please order at thebeacontheatre.org.

Pesticides at Long Dock?

Like most Beaconites, I greatly appreciate the work that's been done at Long Dock and the surrounding park.

But does anyone know why the area is being treated with pesticides for the remainder of October? (According to the warning signs along the walkways, it's being treated until 10/29.)



Is there really a serious pest problem there? I'd hate to see that once-wild area -- former home to red foxes, deer and other wildlife -- turn completely into a toxic suburban golf…

Hi Beacon bands and musicians.

Looking for local talent who want to promote themselves and get a high quality "live in studio" recording and interview.

We will feature a different local band/solo artist each week.
