Greetings Beacon Citizen Network,
I am contacting you because I am doing an art project and need LOTS of newspaper!
If you are getting rid of newspaper that isn't wet, mildewy/decaying then give it to me and I'll turn it into art!
You can contact me at Black.Sloan@gmail.com so we can make arrangements to get your newspaper!
I thank you in advance for being so environmentally minded and artistically supportive!

On Saturday, November 6th, Common Ground Farm will hold its Harvest Auction at the St. Luke’s Parish Hall here in Beacon. For our members, it’s a chance to come together and celebrate the end of another great season. But even if you’re not a member, we hope you’ll come and join us
because we have over 60 prizes up for auction, donated by the people and
businesses that make Beacon great.
Some of the prizes…

I erroneously often think that I can just leave my bike on the street unlocked whilst I run a quick errand. Foolish? Probably. My partner had his bike stolen yesterday from behind Jellyfish. He didn't lock it up as it was in a rather hidden spot. Someone, however, apparently found it, saw that it was unlocked and off it went. So a word of caution, as much as I would love to trust our good Beacon townsfolk, there are some, probably kids, who can't resist an easy target like an unlocked bike.

There was a knock on my door yesterday morning and a stranger with my wallet. It must have dropped out of my coat pocket when I got out of the truck. He left without taking a reward. He refused. All my money and cards were there.
Thank you good citizen. Please let me reward you.

I have a two bedroom, two bath home for rent. Surrounded by 6 wooded acres, the setting is pristine, private, quiet. Open plan dining-living room, loft-like master bedroom with skylights. House is surrounded by decks on three sides. There is an additional deck at the pool. Located 45 miles north of Beacon in Gallatin township of Columbia County, the home is close to Bard College, Rheinbeck, Red Hook and Pine Plains; there is easy access from the Taconic Parkway. Tenant pays utilities. Pets…

After trying to purchase tickets online last night, but being unable to find the link on the Beacon Chamber Of Commerce website (beaconny.org), I remembered that Beacon Bagel had a flyer in the window saying that they were selling tickets too. So I went over there after work, and the flyer wasn't there anymore! I feared what I thought was the worst, that they had all sold out. Instead I was told even worse news...that this event had been flat-out cancelled due to "lack of interest". This news…
