NY Magazine has a story on Newburgh which should discourage anyone from crossing the river. The good thing is the article states it is nothing like its Bohemian neighbor, Beacon.
The Hudson Valley Green received a water quality alert today from Riverkeeper. A citizen reported sewage discharge into the Harbor on September 17 and Riverkeeper confirmed dangerous levels of raw sewage. The discharge is still flowing as of today.
This past May, the Sargent-Downing Gardens and Nursery was planted at the Settlement Camp! Thank you to everyone in the community who came out and those who have been helping since the start. Beacon deserves better (Not to be confused with Thomas Cunningham's Group BDB)
What is going on around the city? Just before the election it looks like the “good ole boys” are trying to get back in? First the Democratic signs are vandalized, then all that talk about,”I can make that happen. What ever your issue, you have a friend who can take care of you.” Really! Let’s think! There are two signs, one Democratic and the other Republican, the Democratic one gets vandalized…Continue

Unfortunately we got blindsided by a freak storm and we had to cancel the event. Since we were already set up and ready to go, we still had to pay for all the rented equiptment and we lost all the money we raised. (over…Continue

What a treat - eek! no pun intended ;)
Sugar-designers are coming to Beacon Sept 16 and 17 (as you know....the Event is posted here at BeaconCitizen). Take your pick of browsing the cupcake designs, vendors, demonstrations, or taking a class. Should be fun! It's at the First Presbyterian Church of Beacon NY on Liberty, and all profits go to benefit that church. The minister man Ben is a friend, so I'm going to show my support! He's a cool dude.
