I don't have anyhting against bikes or hikers, But I don't advocate turning railbeds into trails anymore either. Once you put in a trail on the Beacon Line, it will make it that much more difficult to use the tracks for their intended purpose. As for $$ the feds are in the process of re-directng transportation funds for light rail and trams....A tram would do two things. it would move people from the rver to uptown and would be an attraction in itself. The Beacon Falls cafe will now be open until 9:00 PM on Thursday evenings serving dinner and the areas only craft micro brew beer selection . Also check out our wine list featuring some great tasting wines from California and around the world for under 30.00 a bottle.

There are a number of precedents for track gauge to be mixed in the past... The point here is that
NG track could be laid between the existing standard gauge track and would not have to cross the MNRR main, as the line crosses the MN main via a bridge putting it on the west side of the main line. The track then could follow the walkway to near the end of the Metro North parking lot a short walk from the station.
