Now that the mayor and the city council have pushed the reset button on the TOD, a move which I and many others applaud, I respectfully call upon the city council and the mayor to include use of trail space along the Beacon Line as a demand in any new talks with the MTA, as a condition before the TOD moves forward again.
This is our Highline in Manhattan, this is our Walkway Over the Hudson in Poughkeepsie. This is what the Beacon Line can do for…

The second installation of artist banners on Beekman Street have begun installation. Seven new banners are now up with another 5 to come in the next week or so, featuring images from 24 working artists in and around Beacon. The banners are a project of The Rutigliano Group and Parsons James, with generous support from area businesses. Special thanks to Scott from Monster Visuals and to the City of Beacon Department of Public Works!…

Found an adolescent (likely under a year) tortoiseshell cat in a tree on Herbert off of Main. She has a flea collar and regular pink Hartz collar. Anyone looking?

Draft Transit Oriented Development Statement,
by Steve Gold, mayor
This letter is to announce that the Transit Oriented Development zone, in its current form, will no longer be considered or advanced for further discussion, by the Mayor and the City Council. While the MTA has stated they will only build a TOD based on the levels enumerated in the current TOD, and that they plan to add 400 additional commuter parking spaces, we hope they will continue to…

Last night I attended a TOD neighborhood meeting at Memorial Hall in Beacon. We were told that this meeting would give citizens a chance to be heard regarding the waterfront development that the MTA/City of Beacon is proposing.
