Catch-up for A Little Beacon Blog

Hey! Long time no blog! We went on a family road trip, so I'm getting back into the swing of things. On A Little Beacon Blog, we've got a picture of Riverfest, a non-camp fire smore recipe, a little shout out to Bank Square, and a picture of Beacon's writeup in the Daily News that my friend saw and emailed to me. More soon!

Potential (admittedly out there) solution to Beacon's pool access problems

This is way more expensive than keeping the High School pool open and/ or the University Settlement camp pool open. And of course, we already have a river pool, that everyone should be taking advantage of:

But what's different…

Ate at Yankee Clipper Diner

I'm not sure if this is where a restaurant review would go, but a moderator is welcome to move it if it's in the wrong place.  Thanks!!!

I ate at the Yankee Clipper at 397 Main Street in Beacon NY with my mother yesterday and wanted to comment, since the manager said I was welcome to.

Jerry, our waiter, was pleasant and helpful. We appreciated that and most of the salad was fresh with a good homemade house…

Save the Beacon High School Pool and Fitness Center for the citizens of Beacon

Beacon citizens unite:

Our community is finally undergoing a renaissance after years of stagnation. We have suffered through crime, drugs, dysfunctional schools and elected officials that did not address the needs of the community. At last Beacon is making progress; the citizens are getting involved and you can see improvement all around the city. We passed a budget to build a new high school and in return the community was promised access to the pool and fitness center ironically… Continue

Join me in watching my nephews kid play in the U.S. Open!

My nephews son, William "Bud" Cauley, is playing today in the U.S. Open on NBC TV. He tees off at 11:30am and is currently sitting at +4 for the tournament.

We are very proud of Bud as this is his first PRO outing since leaving the University of Alabama. The 21 year old from Jacksonville Florida is going to be a player to watch in the future I am sure.

Anyway, hope you join us in supporting him....
