I know I've seen posters for a lost parakeet around town and now one has landed in our backyard as of 12pm on Wednesday at 161 East Main Street. If anyone know who it belongs to or what the number to call is, let me know! Also if you have a bird cage please call 831 1133 so we can keep it safe! Thank you! Jennifer & Stephen Clair

The recent schedule change (effective 6/21/10) means that trains to Poughkeepsie departing Grand Central after 9pm weekdays are now combined with Croton Harmon local trains. The reduced number of trains means more stops, more passengers, longer commute times but same expense. (and same likelihood the lights and/or air conditioning will be out and you'll either be down a car or have to get a new train at Croton Harmon)

Last night I attended a meeting hosted by BDB, the acronym
for BEACON DESERVES BETTER, a group of concerned
Beacon citizens who are trying to assess the potential harm and
benefits of TOD, another acronym, this one for TRANSIT ORIENTED
DEVELOPMENT, an MTA sponsored mixed use project on the twenty two
acres it owns in proximity to the Beacon train station.
All I knew about TOD at this point was the little I had gleaned from a
friend on the city… Continue

After decades of warnings, in 2008, the USDA revoked Cole Bros. right to own animals under the Animal Welfare Act. They now lease animals from other small circuses, and the cycle ofabuse and dangergoes…

Thanks to everyone who made it happen ;-) Thanks to the petition collectors, the petition signers, the petition posters, the emails, the phone calls, Mayor Gold and the city council... and the anonymous $30K donor!
