Fareground Pop UP Cafe Event

Beacon Community Garden - in need of gardening tools

We're a non-profit, locally organized to aid people in the planting and harvesting of their own food. On May 4tn Americorp volunteers will work a full day to help us prep our garden for this year's harvesting.

We are in need of gardening tools - if you have any to loan, please call me at 845.380.3437. You may also leave them in the back of St. Andrew's church near the garden, but please label your tools.

Beacon Community Garden

The Beacon Community Garden, in its 4th year, is a non-profit started by Susan Ruckdeschel and other local residents to establish a source of free food for those in need. In the back of St. Andrew's church on South Avenue, we have 8 plots just about ready for seeding and planting. Please call 845.380.3437 if you are interested in maintaining a plot for the 2012 growing season. A $15.00 (refundable) deposit is required. Plots are given out on a first-come-first-served basis.

Roots and Shoots;Dr Jane Goodall's Institute Will Benefit If We See The Disney Movie "Chimpanzee" Which Is Comming Out April 20th

We should all try to go to the Disney movie "Chimpanzee" during the first week of it's release. Dr. Jane Goodall is not in the movie but she did consult in the making of the movie. A percentage of the ticket sale only during the first week will go to the Jane Goodall Institute. Her programs help children all over the world to get involved and implement community volunteer projects. She also helps programs which help protect Chimpanzees and the environment.
