Original posted on 4/22/10:

The Piggy Bank...***sigh***. I wanted to like it, I really did.

On Tuesday evening around 7:00pm, my husband and I took our two children to quite possibly the worst dinner we ever, yes, EVER had. I should have known that something was wrong. We were the only table in the restaurant at peak… Continue

Printmaking Group for Etching and Intaglio prints

To printmakers and artists with printmaking exparience.

There is an opportunity to join a group to share a nice printmaking studio on every Sunday evening at Garrison Art Center.

If you enjoy etching, woodcut prints or monoprints, but haven't done it because of a lack of an access to an etching press. There is a nice print studio right on the Hudson river with a beautiful view.

You can cut down on some studio rental fee as a group. Share some materials. Maybe explore… Continue

Beacon is the new Rhinebeck (according to housing sales)

Only one area posted a gain in real estate prices in Dutchess County year-over-year: that was Beacon, up 1%.
Everything else went down, for an average of -10.3% countywide, in one year.
Second worst was Rhinebeck: -42.3% in prices, in one year. (Amernia was the worst at 44.8%.)

So it seems that all of the rich New Yorkers who used to buy weekend homes in Rhinebeck are now buying weekend homes in Beacon.

The Beacon middle school already is missing full art coverage of even one teacher for students in those years.. For those of you who have children in the Beacon Public Schools at any level, if this is unacceptable to you, please contact your principal, the superintendent and the school board members… Continue
