Beacon listed in am New York's "Get away for the Weekend"

The Travel section of am New York (the free newspaper in Manhattan) listed Beacon as one of 5 suggested day trips, along with Philadelphia, New Paltz, Hudson, and Poconos.

The Latest on St. Francis Hospital

The Beacon 248 Project: Important meeting tomorrow, 2/10, 7PM, City Hall

The Beacon City Council will discuss the Beacon 248 project on Tioronda Avenue at the Workshop Meeting scheduled fortomorrow, Monday, February 10, 2014 (agenda attached). The applicant and his developer will be present to discuss the proposed project and to answer questions from the Council.

IMHO, everyone should be following the SFH bankruptcy story & making opinions heard---at this time I favor Westchester acquiring it.  I just don't want to see a monopoly w/VBMC/HealthQuest. .  .talk about taking away your choices!!  Susan M. (again!!!)

We All Will Miss Pete Seeger

     The first time I met him was when I had my business in Beacon in 1995; a flower shop called Sherwood Florist. It was one of the storefronts of the Beacon Hotel.I had attended a Beacon Rotary Club lunch meeting and he was the guest speaker. He spoke about the Hudson River and things he was doing to help clean up the river.
