Denning's Point Musings 12

Denning’s Point Musings 12

Another “Blue Pencil” special for some hystorical (sic) fun

The Denning’s Point trails are closed for the winter to protect the American Bald Eagle foraging, perching and roosting habitat. This winter-time closing is essential if we’re to be environmentally-conscious stewards and coincidentally provides some delightful “down time” for me as a Point tour leader and author-lecturer. You are invited to enjoy…

Musicians needed for KATY PERRY/BLACK FLAG tribute band.

Let's face it: Teenybopper KATY PERRY has some catchy songs.

Then again, so do 1980s hardcore pioneers BLACK FLAG.

I'm looking for musicians to join KATY FLAGGY, Dutchess County's first Katy Perry/Black Flag tribute band!

We will play mash-ups of Katy Perry songs with Black Flag songs. (It can be done; I've started figuring out how the songs fit together.)

This could be an incredible party band.…

Enjoy our local Atrium: THE DIA

My girlfriend and I have been going bonkers with cabin fever this winter.  We were wondering what to do one weekend and really wished that there was an atrium like the many in the city.  Then it occurred to me: thanks to the Fishbacks, residents of Beacon have free access to the DIA on weekends.  So we have been taking advantage of that great benefit.  We sit in the Wharhol exhibit and read…

city dreams...

Dear BCN community,

May I ask what you think the city government should do that would lift our city to new levels? What goals should we aspire to reach? What is it that this city needs or wants or should do, more than anything else....from basic infrastructure like more parking spaces to ideals such as call-in or online polls on the bigger questions facing our city?

Thank you, Steve Gold
