Hello, I am a teacher for the last eight years, and an active member of the Beacon community participating in triathlons and marathons. I love Beacon and want to see it maximize all its potential as a hub for healthy living.
What's your favorite thing about Beacon?
Hard to find just one: Mt. Beacon, Bothers Restaurant, Beacon Bagels, Homespun...hell most of Main Street.

I saw your posts about saving the Beacon High School Pool. I am a member of the pool. That is great news that the Board of Ed agreed to keep it open Sept. to Jan. Please let me know if I can do anything to help going forward.

Bike Accident

Does anyone know if the cyclist involved in a serious bike accident on 9D Monday morning is ok? If anyone knows anythings please share; I hope he or she is recovering well.

Thank You BOE!

Well, it looks like democracy works! You all did a great job in brining it to the attention of the school board how important the pool and fitness center is to our community. Tonight the school board agreed to keep the pool open for the fall semester from September to January for a $100 fee. During this period we need to work on building the membership back to at least 200 people in order to keep it open from January to June and for years to come. We are…

Board of Education meeting this Thursday July 7th we will meet to save the community pool at the High School @ 6:30 PM

Thank you to all the people who showed up on Saturday, we are off to a good start in formulating an action plan to save the pool and fitness center. At the Saturday meeting, we agreed to meet at 6:30 PM in front of the High School entrance before the board meeting on July 7. The actual BOE meeting begins at 7:00 PM. Now is the time for all interested members the make their voices heard.
