April 29, 2012 from 1pm to 3pm

There will be cool bands, great food, and a beautiful garden!  (Some of our local food sponsors are none other than Homespun Foods, Sukothai, The Beacon Bagel, The Coffee Shoppe, Ella's Bellas, the Beacon Natural Market, and Sweet Mama's to name a few.)  There are no ticket sales at the door, so make sure you purchase your tickets ahead of time at the Beatrix Farrand Garden website. http://www.beatrixfarrandgarden.org/events_GREENTEEN.htmlSee More

June 11, 2011 from 5pm to 7pm
The Green Teens, seven teenagers from Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County’s Green Teen Community Gardening Program, have been hard at work since the end of March.  That was when the Beacon teens were handed cameras and film to capture a part of the local food system that touched their lives. Three months and many frames later they are excited to show off what they have created in a public showing of their work, From the Ground Up: Growing Food, through the Eyes of Teenagers.  The…See More

In the Name of Food- The 4th Annual Green Teen Photo Show at Zuzu's Leaf and Bean

June 12, 2010 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm
The Green Teen program empowers urban youth to be effective community change-agents by immersing them in the local food system. This youth development program teaches life and work skills through hands-on experiences in farming and gardening, health and nutrition, entrepreneurship, and leadership. This spring, we armed six Beacon teens with cameras to capture a part of the local food system that touches their lives.
