I was fortunate to get out of town over the Easter holiday. I went to Philly to visit with some friends. While I was there, my nephew and I went out a-caching and discovered 7 geocaches on late sunny afternoon (which followed a day of heavy rain), including one cache that required we wade through a dark storm tunnel under a major roadway. That was cool! Spooky, but cool.
As I waded through the dark tunnel, I tried to use my phone's video camera to light the way. Of course, my phone decided it was time for a siesta and left me in darkness. I had to decide, push on against my better judgement or to be safe and to keep my nephew safe
As a father of two and school teacher, I often make the responsible decision...whatever that means. But as an uncle, judgement plays no part. When I'm the uncle, consequences are nonexistent. So I slowly and carefully made my through to the middle of the tunnel and discovered the cache.
Pretty exhilarating find and worth fighting the fear to achieve. I encourage all of you gangstaz out there to push through. You'll find it's worth it.

I would really love to organize a CITO (Cache In Trash Out) event soon. Perhaps over Memorial Day weekend. Any suggestions for good locations would be welcomed. Perhaps at the top of Mt. Beacon. There are several caches up there, and it is a place worthy of keeping clean :-)
I would also like to create and plant a cache of our own. APOK, still have an ammo can?
Let's get caching!
