  • We have a 19" monster TV that's about 8 or 9 years old. Great condition and DIGITAL not analog. But our bad backs prevent us from moving it from upstairs to car. It's free for anyone who needs a giant old good TV. It weighs about sixty to eighty pounds. Pick up in Beacon.

Can we get TV reception here in Beacon? Has anyone tried recently usingthe new "converter" boxes and an amplified antenna,
I recently discontirnued cable, too costly, and think its crazy that we have to "pay" for the right to see the basic channels everyone else gets for free, (but probably don't use) anyone know anythiung?
this is a good question. i remember trying to get analog tv and all i could get was one independent uhf station in poughkeepsie. but with the new digital signals last year, maybe we can get something more... but i doubt it. has anyone tried getting digital signals from the air yet?

for all the benefits beacon has, one thing we don't have is good radio/ television reception. there's a big wonking mountain between us and the mass market of new york city ;-(

When I moved here, sigh, 18 years ago, we got WNYC on the radio! I heard that the towers were taken over, given? to the cell phone companys. Not sure how legal it is to have a community essentially barred from PSA"s and other important government announcements
This TV is digital.
