definitely. we exploded several bottles all over the kitchen when we were capping. we switched to kegs - so much easier! we get our kegs and brewing supplies occasionally from Party Creations up in Red Hook. If you're interested in a bigger network, check out the Hudson Valley Homebrewers. The meetings are fun, and they do brew sessions up at Party Creations a few times a year.

It's been a couple of years since I brewed but I plan to pull all my gear out and brew sometime later this month! No more bottles though...every batch I have had go bad was in bottles...kegs only this time!

John, let me know how that goes.... (in approx 9 months, i guess!) - been planning on a mead for a while. where are you ordering the honey from?

Awesome, I've been wanting to start this group for a while but didn't want to spearhead the effort. My husband and I have been brewing for over a year, and have about 15 varieties under our belts. It's great... we ended up buying a separate beer fridge that we now have in our basement for the kegs. So nice to offer friends a homemade beer! Just getting into breads & cheeses this winter, so I'm looking forward to share what we learn!

(thanks Barry for the heads up on this group!)

Hey I'm psyched to find some local people who want to talk and taste beer! I've been brewing for a little less than a year and happened to be drinking a home brewed IPA when I found this group. I look forward to meeting you all. Cheers!

Once we have some more members we need to organize our first beer event!
