Erica - Is it on for this week?
Comment by Kit Taylor on March 14, 2010 at 5:48pm
Yes, it's on for this Tuesday at 7 at Chill! For those of you who didn't come last time, don't worry if you don't have beer to share. Just come hang out and talk beer!

Did anyone go to the opening at Birdsall House this weekend? How was it?

Birdsall is nice. The food is really good and reasonably priced. Good draught list and some interesting bottles too. I got adventurous and tried the Captain Lawrence barrel aged sour brown ... and I can say I still haven't acquired a real taste for sour ales, but it did go pretty well with the picked carrots and onions(?) that came with my burger.

Liam, thank you for joining us on Tuesday, your Pumpkin is fantastic and we're excited to have your experience help us! Barry and John, thanks for the great beers as well, we had a great time!

Liam - let us know about the Cat Coalition event dates so we can make sure we prepare a special cat brew for donation. I ordered some T-Shirts (because I'm a huge dork and love that kind of thing) for us!

Barry - Looking forward to brew day on Sunday! Let me know if there's anything I can bring?

The Brewing Network is a great online resource with tons of podcasts about all things brewing.

As for Sunday, there's no need to bring anything. I'll have some snacks for eating and plenty of beer for tasting. Let's get started around 10:00, if that's too early for anyone you're welcome to stop by whenever you like. My all grain brew days usually go for about 7 hours from weighing the grain to resetting the kitchen at the end of the day.

Cheers!

I have to say thanks the Barry for introducing me to BeerTools - my OG was dead-on and I think I'll be bringing a decent beer this time! I also just ordered a sexy new brew kettle for the cheapest price ever.... check it out.

Maybe we can get together and whip a brew on Liam's big burner!

Hey Everyone - if you're interested in Volunteering for TAP NY, there's still some spots available for Sunday! Kit & I will be volunteering the first shift. Get in touch with Nat (email below) and tell him I sent you.
