Beacon Citizen Network (BCN): a place for neighbors to get the word out, be heard and stay informed in all matters concerning Beacon, NY.

Any would-be writers out there?

For those of you who might not know, when I'm not creating online social networks or photo editing, I moonlight as a writer. My work has appeared in The New York Times, Newsday, Gourmet,, American Way and a handful of other publications. You can see the whole shebang on my website.

I was thinking about offering a class on how to pitch your story ideas to magazines and newspapers. I imagine a one-night workshop, 2-3 hours, where I could break down the process and we would have time to workshop participants' ideas. The cost would be $15-20.

If you're interested please email me at or leave a note here!
