Event Description

Join Us for A Taste of Our Bounty; the Rondout Valley Growers Association Second Annual FARM TOUR

Enjoy a day-long celebration of food, fun, and farming with the Rondout Valley Grower’s Association’s second annual self-guided tour of regional farms. Meet local farmers, enjoy spectacular scenery, pick and sample farm-grown products, and learn about the rich agricultural heritage of this special region. Tasting the Rondout Valley’s edible bounty is a big part of our farm tour: the day begins at nine with hot beverages and cider donuts, concludes at four with an afternoon tea party, and there’s plenty of opportunities to sample fresh, ripe produce in between.

Lunch discounts are available at participating farmstands and at Chefs On Fire restaurant in High Falls. Tour-goers receive a jumbo-sized RVGA tote to carry field-picked produce, and a tour packet with a map of participating farms, schedules for the day, discount coupons, and a booklet detailing the people and history behind each farm on the tour. Participating farms include Saunderskill Farms, Kelder’s Farm and Home-Grown Mini Golf, Davenport Farms, Duchess Equestrian Center, Catskill Native Nursery and Gill’s Farm. Each farmer will offer field and facility tours, share history, stories, and fun facts.

The Family Farm Tour is sponsored in part by a grant from the Pure Catskills Buy Local campaign, an economic initiative of the Watershed Agricultural Council, and through the generous support of participating farmers from the Rondout Valley Growers Association.

Tickets are $12/person, $25/family for RVGA members, and $14/person, $35/family for non-members. Children under 12 are free! Take some time to savor our valley’s bounty. For advance tickets and more information log on to
