Beacon Sloop Club Winter Lecture Series continues on Thursday, March 12th with Your River on Drugs with Dr. Emma Rosi-Marshall, Aquatic Ecologist, Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies. Dr. Rosi-Marshall will discuss her research on how pharmaceutical drugs and personal care products are polluting our nation's rivers and streams—with consequences for sensitive aquatic life and drinking water supplies.
Aquatic ecologist Emma Rosi-Marshall focuses on the effects of human activities on rivers. Numerous impacts threaten the quality and ecological integrity of freshwater ecosystems. Rosi-Marshall has conducted research on land use change, large dam construction, and the appearance of novel contaminants in freshwaters ranging from headwater streams to large rivers.
