Event Description

Ferry Godmother Productions is hosting its annual fundraising concert to support the free community concerts around the Hudson Valley.  .  Lillie will be performing excerpts from her show that celebrates her personal 50 years of song; Renaissance Journey.  Ms. Bryant is known for her successful singing career with Billie Ford, as the duo named Billie and Lillie.  Their single “La Dee Dah” hit the Billboard Charts for 13 consecutive weeks, landing in the top #10 and the duo’s appearance on American Bandstand with Dick Clark. Gabrielle Tranchina easily moves between jazz, world fusion, Latin and pop.

There will be a star studded jazz showcase with Lillie Bryant and Gabriela Tranchina on Thursday May 30, 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Arboretum, Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery, NY  Opening the show will be Gabriela Tranchina performing with a worldly jazz flare.  Accompanying the songbirds will be a stellar band including, Christopher Dean Sullivan, Joe Tranchina and Ernie Colon.  The show is general admission, all tickets are $25.  Space is limited; purchase of tickets in advance is suggested at www.FerryGodmother.com.

Music has come a long way since the late 50’s and early 60s but Lillie Bryant has kept up with the pace, times and trends.  Performing for over 50 years, she has as much fire and energy today as ever.  Ms. Bryant has the fine wine quality, better with age.  Lillie Bryant was top of the Billboard charts in 1958, making appearances as a duo with Billie Ford on the American Bandstand with the late great Dick Clark.  Ms. Bryant continued to perform and share the stage with Jackie Wilson, and Sam Cooke.  She toured with the Allan Freed Rock & Roll Show with Chuck Berry, Big Bopper, Chantels and Frankie Lymon.  Today she is working to make an album which could catapult her comeback.  Lillie Bryant has blossomed as a great example of an artist that erases the borders of the ages. Yes, some things have changed, but greatness will always be great.

She is a German-born, Parisian chanteuse, with Brazilian stylings.  She can explore her fondness for languages by singing in Brazilian Portuguese, German, English, Spanish, French and Hindi. Her performance this night will be a musical melting pot of jazz greats.
