Barbara Masterson studied the figure with Franklin Alexander at Barrett House in Poughkeepsie and in Woodstock, and painting with Mel Stabin, Christine Debrowski and Gale Barnett in Giverny, France.
She is inspired by dramatic lighting of the landscape and her peaceful mountain farm. Painting on location heightens the emotional charge and the sensual depth in Barbara's work. She has participated in juried, solo and group shows throughout the US and has won several awards. Her paintings are in private and corporate collections in the US, Italy, Germany and Guam. Barbara has traveled worldwide with her paints to capture local imager, be it landscape, people, flora and fauna.
Barbara is a member of International Plein Air Painters, Arts Mid Hudson, New York Society of Women Artists, New York Plein Air Painters, Barrett House Galleries and Greene County Council on the Arts.
