Event Description

Scenic Hudson’s Tuesday Evening Lecture Series—Local Produce

The Hudson Valley has so much to offer in the way of fresh, local food. These lectures will highlight what goes into producing it. In addition to informative talks from farmers, brewers, beekeepers and experts on creating nutrient-rich soils, representatives from Scenic Hudson will discuss our Foodshed Conservation Plan, a blueprint for ramping up farmland protection throughout the Hudson Valley.

Scenic Hudson Assistant Land Conservation Director Cari Watkins-Bates and Alex Reese of Obercreek Farm LLC in Wappingers Falls will lead a discussion on conservation easements—what they are, why they’re important for protecting farms and our local foodshed, and who benefits when land is protected through an easement (hint: we all do).

QUESTIONS OR TO RSVP? Contact Scenic Hudson Parks Event and Volunteer Coordinator Anthony Coneski:, 845-473-4440, ext. 273.

Location: The River Center at Scenic Hudson’s Long Dock Park
