Event Description

Mid Hudson Animal Aid Announces CATOBERFEST Sept 25 – Music, Craft Beer and Prizes;

Proceeds to Help Care and Find Loving Homes for the Hudson’s Abandoned and Special Needs Felines

BEACON, NY – You’ll have a chance to enjoy live bands, craft beer, artisanal fare and a raffle for prizes Sunday, September 25, when Mid Hudson Animal Aid holds its 5th annual Catoberfest at The Hop in Beacon, 3:00-6:00 pm. In addition to offering a great time, proceeds will benefit the felines of this unique no-kill, free range cat sanctuary.

If you cannot attend the benefit, a tax deductible donation would be much appreciated and can be made at Midhudsonanimalaid.org.

“We’re proud of our long history in serving the community and rescuing endangered cats,” said Ira Chavis, MHAA Board Member and Catoberfest organizer.  “And we are very grateful to this year's Catoberfest sponsors and to all who can come to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon while doing so much good for our feline residents.   We are also grateful for all the supporters of the previous year’s Catoberfest who helped us raise over $15,000 for MHAA.  With the help of our supportive community we can make our fifth Catoberfest the biggest and best yet.”

The Hop (554 Main Street, Beacon, NY  12508) will be hosting the event 3:00-6:00 p.m., with free admission.  The restaurant will prepare a special Fancy Feast of Sauerbraten, bratwurst, and mushroom strudel, proceeds going to MHAA. The Fancy Feast can be enjoyed for $20 in advance through catoberfest.brownpapertickets.com; or $25 at the door.  There will be a cash bar and The Hop will make a donation to MHAA for each beer sold between 3:00-6:00 pm.

This year's’ grand prize raffle is a 2016 Kona Dew Plus bike courtesy of People’s Bicycles in Beacon.  Raffle tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25 and can be purchased at Mid Hudson Animal Aid and People’s Bicycles during normal business hours, or at the Catoberfest event.  The winning ticket will be drawn at 6:00 pm during Catoberfest and the winner need not be present. Kittysteins, hand blown pint glasses from Hudson Beach Glass, are back this year for $40 apiece.  These can be ordered at Catoberfest or by emailing info@midhudsonanimalaid.org.
