The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls hosts an eclectic triple-bill to benefit Riverfest's summer fun.
Beacon Winterfest March 2
Come celebrate in communal warmth and brighten up the bleak, mid-winter months at the first-ever concert in the stunning Waterfall Room at The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls. In anticipation of the sunny days ahead, Beacon Winterfest 2013 is the major fundraiser in support of Beacon Riverfest with all proceeds going to support this summer’s fourth annual event on June 29, 2013.
With musical performances by
Winterfest features the usual stellar eclectic line-up you’ve come to expect from Local 845 and the Beacon Riverfest: headliners, the jammy, Americana alt-country rockers, and crowd favorites Yarn (led by singer/songwriter Blake Christiana) follows in the fine tradition of The Grateful Dead and Widespread Panic in working crowds into a mellow, communal frenzy.
The Big Bright
To keep things warm in the middle, The Big Bright, a new collaboration between Glenn Patscha and Fiona McBain of Americana stalwarts Ollabelle, and critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Liz Tormes make their Hudson Valley debut and pour beautiful harmonies and understated arrangements over a surprising selection of Brit-pop and vintage New Wave guilty pleasures in support of a new disc called “I Slept Through the ’80s.”
Antje Duvekot (pronounced aunt-yuh doo-va-kott), a critically acclaimed, Boston-based singer songwriter, combines uncommonly beautiful vocals with a classically sharp poetic sensibility influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon and Leonard Cohen.
Tickets are $45 (with a limited number of VIP ‘Snow Angel’ preferred seats available for $90) available at http://beaconwinterfest.brownpapertickets.com/
This event has been graciously sponsored by Beacon Natural Market, The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls, Chronogram, WFUV-FM and The Beacon Music Factory
